Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge

This instrument is a primary instrument for rainfall measurement, and its performance meets the requirements of the national standard GB/T 21978.2-2014 "Requirements for Observation of Precipitation".

Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge

Overview

The core component of this instrument, the tipping bucket, adopts a three-dimensional streamlined design, making the bucket tip water more smoothly and giving it self-cleaning of dust and easy washing. The pulse is converted to a 485 signal output, so rainfall can be read directly without secondary calculation, which is simple and convenient.

Key Features

  • As shown in Figure 1, this instrument consists of a housing, a filter, a rain collector, a funnel, a tipping bucket, terminal blocks, leg brackets, a reed switch, a control box and a rain gauge base. The rain gauge base carries the tipping bucket shaft, a circular spirit level, the reed switch bracket and the signal output terminals. Unlike other tipping bucket rain gauges, this instrument's tipping bucket shaft sleeve is an integrated positioning structure, and the tipping bucket is mounted in the shaft bearing via the tipping bucket shaft. The internal structure is fully assembled at the factory and no on-site assembly of internal parts is required, which greatly facilitates on-site installation.
  • The tipping bucket of this instrument has a three-dimensional streamlined design with a drooping curved-surface flow-guiding tip. It is elegant and smooth in shape, tips water better and is easy to clean and maintain.
  • A magnet is fitted on the tipping bucket of this instrument and a reed switch is fitted on the reed switch bracket. At the factory the magnet and reed switch are already adjusted to a suitable coupling distance, so that the instrument's output signal has a definite proportional relationship with the number of tipping bucket reversals.
